this has nothing to do with church im tryign to make areally good bowl of porridge

in leith there is this breakfast place called ante and one time i had really expensive porridge there which i have thought about ever since. i am personally a porridge fiend so this is really important to my happiness

according to the chef her secrets were:

1. always using 1.1 grams of salt

2. using a mixture of GROATS and oatmeal

3. using oat milk

4. cooking the oatmeal itself for about 3mins

sunday 25th january 2026

started the night before by soaking the groats in oat milk then cooking them on the hob for abour 30mins while i showered. this is in violation of biblical law so sadly i was punished by the liquid evaporating too much and them kind of burning.

i added about 1:3 oatmilk water ratio cooked at mid heat then added in oatmeal for abit, THEN salt

on the side i made a black forest compote with brown sugar plums and frozen berries and topped with a bit of cacao powder

7/10 the groats are a genius addition and add a pleasant chewiness + nutty taste. would have enjoyed if iwasnt scarfing it down before church
